1 Corinthians 3:1-4 A Contrasting Outlook Our Lord discerns us, and nothing remains hidden from His eyes. CARNAL (Men of Flesh) A carnal man seeks to please both God and flesh. The carnal man does not please the Holy Spirit; instead, he pleases the flesh and produces its works. CHILDISH (Infants in Christ) A Christian who is childish only grows older in age, but does not mature spiritually. A Christian who fails to grow spiritually becomes vulnerable to being overtaken by the world and his own former sins. COMMONER (Mere Men) A carnal Christian would engage in the same deeds as worldly people. Even while exercising spiritual gifts, a follower of Christ can fall into being a carnal Christian.
