Food for Thought for the week of July 25, 2021

(Readings and questions for the further study of the Book of Titus)

The Food for Thought this week is designed to be used along with the Daily Dose. Visit for details to subscribe to this free video devotional.

Day 1 – Chris asked each of us to pray about who that person is in our lives that we’d like to have an intentional impact on. He suggested we think about how we can build an intentional relationship with this person so we can have an impact on them coming to know the Lord. Write the name of that person for you below.

Day 2 – Read Chapter 1: Chris shared how church leaders are not held to a higher standard, they are just judged more strictly to everyone’s standard. That means the list of character qualities in this chapter is a great list for all of us to aspire to live out in our daily lives. Go through the list and identify which two or three elements you need to either turn from or add to your life. If you’re unsure on any element, ask a close friend for his/her feedback.

Day 3 – Read Chapter 2: Paul used the word “self-controlled” four times in this chapter, which emphasizes how important he thought it was for us to have self-control in our lives. Chris shared the only way we will experience self-control is by maintaining the mindset that it is only possible through the power that comes from the Holy Spirit (see Romans 7 and 8). How well are you doing developing this mindset of dependence on the Holy Spirit?

Day 4 – Read Chapter 3: Take some time to thank God for what He has done for us “not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.”
