Food for Thought for the week of December 18, 2022

In this weekend’s sermon, Larry reminded us that not only are our sins permanently paid for and we have full access to God, but also that, as followers of Jesus, we are able to do ANYTHING a priest or pastor can do. When hearing that, what was your response? Empowered, overwhelmed, intimidated, or ______________? What is it about the role of priest/pastor that causes you to respond that way?

Read 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Knowing that you can powerfully intercede on behalf of others, is there a loved one whom you could intercede for in this current season or in a challenge they are facing? Write the name(s) in this space.

Could you commit this week to praying 2-3 times for those you listed above?
