Easter 2025

Hope is Here

By Pastor Mike Hernandez, April 20, 2025

Romans 8:11 (NLT) The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

The resurrection of Jesus gives us the power to close between the life we are living and the one we could live.

Why 3 days?

1 Peter 2:21-25 (MSG) 21-25 This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it,step-by-step.

John 11:25-26 (NIV) 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

THERE IS NO THAT HIS CANNOT RESURRECT

I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. Revelation 1:18

Philippians 3:10-11 (NLT) 10 I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

Lifegroup Discussion:

START TALKING

Break the ice and invite everyone into the conversation. • What was Easter like for you growing up? Traditions? Memories? • What does “hope” mean to you personally right now?

START THINKING

Dig deeper into the heart of the message. • The message said: “Hope shows up where you least expect it.” Why do you think God chooses to move in unexpected places and ways? • We talked about the 3-day journey: Friday (Pain), Saturday (Confusion), Sunday (Victory). Which “day” do you relate to most in this season — and why?

START SHARING

Open up space for honesty and healing. • What’s the “stone” in your life right now that you need Jesus to roll away? (Fear, regret, shame, addiction, disappointment…?) • Have you ever felt stuck between believing and belonging? What helped you move forward — or what’s still holding you back?

START PRAYING

Invite the Holy Spirit to move personally.

Jesus, thank You for not just dying for us — but rising again to offer new life. Today we ask You to meet us in our pain, our waiting, and our confusion. Help us surrender what’s been holding us, and step into resurrection life. You are our living hope. Let us walk with You one step at a time. In Your name, Amen.

START DOING

Challenge each other to take next steps. • Identify what “step” God is calling you to take — maybe it’s… • Asking for help • Starting a new habit of prayer • Sharing your story • Getting baptized (if not yet!) • Inviting someone into your hope

Hope isn’t meant to stay in the tomb — it’s meant to move through us.
