Civil War

Acts 15:1-21

The only reason for civil war is because of absolute truth.

The Five Solas are:

  1. Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone): The Bible alone is our highest authority.
  2. Sola Fide (faith alone): We are saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ.
  3. Sola Gratia (grace alone): We are saved by the grace of God alone.
  4. Solus Christus (Christ alone): Jesus Christ alone is our Lord, Savior, and King.
  5. Soli Deo Gloria (to the glory of God alone): We live for the glory of God alone.

    1. Adding works to grace
    2. Leaders separated
    3. Taking it to Jerusalem
  1. Testifying all the way
  2. Still opposition
  1. PETER SPEAKS (Acts 15:6-11)
  1. Council of many called together
  2. Peter sets the record straight
  1. BARNABAS AND PAUL SPEAK (Acts 15:12)
  1. Peter got them quiet
  2. Testified to God's signs
  1. JAMES DECIDES (Acts 15:13-21)
  1. Reviews the testimony
  2. Refers to scripture
  3. Makes a judgement

What about you?

  1. Make a definite plan of reading, studying, memorizing and meditating on God's word so that you will not be carried away with every wind of doctrine. (Hebrews 9:1)
  2. Tell one person this week how the grace of God changed your life and can change their life.
  3. Gently help a strugging brother or sister in Christ this week to seek the truth.
