Soli Deo Gloria

Isaiah 42:8

By Stewart McCarter, September 13, 2020

You are giving glory to someone, who is it?

  1. GOD ALONE IS WORTHY OF GLORY (Isaiah 42:8)

    1. YHWH is the name of the only God
    2. He gives no glory to no other (He has the power and right to keep or give)
    3. He does not share with idols
  2. MAN CAN RECEIVE NO GLORY (Ephesians 2:9)

    1. How much grace does man need?
    2. Who chooses?
    3. We choose God because God has redeemed us
  3. THOSE WHO CLAIMED GOD'S GLORY

  1. Lucifer (Isaiah 14:11-17)
  2. Cain (Genesis 4:2-10)
  3. Moses (Numbers 20:10-12)
  4. David (2 Samuel 24:1-17)
  5. Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4:29-37)
  6. Herold (Acts 12:21-23)

What about you? 1. Be careful to give glory to another. 2. Be careful to recognize your need for grace. 3. Be careful to not attempt to steal God's glory.
