“Worship God with Confidence”

(2 Chronicles 7:14)

In true worship, we begin to see ourselves as God sees us.

  1. GOD HAS A NAME

    1. Are you called by His name?
    2. The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9)
    3. God's name is holy (Exodus 33:18)
  2. GOD DESIRES WORSHIP (John 4:21-24)

    1. Not a particular place
    2. Not a particular time
    3. Requires Spirit (requires baptism of the Holy Spirit = Salvation)
      1. Relationship (Ephesians 2:18)
      2. Discernment (1 Corinthians 2:14)
    4. Requires Truth
      1. The Scripture is our source of truth
      2. Therefore our prayers are based on God's Word (2 Corinthians 1:20)
  3. GOD DESIRES TWO-WAY COMMUNICATIONS

  1. God speaks to us through the Word of God (John 5:39, Luke 24:27)
  2. God desires exaltation (Psalm 46:10)
  3. Therefore pray God's word back to Him
    1. As you read scripture ask two questions
    1. What kind of God would say this?
    2. What kind of God would do this?
    1. Psalms is the easiest place to learn
    1. Psalm 8
      1. Vs. 1 (a) Yahweh You are God (b) Your name is majestic wherever the Sun touches the Earth

What about you?

  1. Are you His?
  2. Worship God at home and work and play.
  3. Practice worshipping God using the Psalms.
