God-Centered Relationships

Ephesians 5:1-2

By Stewart McCarter, February 14, 2021

(Ephesians 5:1-2) When you come to the place in your relationship when you define it by what it is not rather that what it is, it is time to refocus.

  1. CENTER ON THE RIGHT PERSON

    1. (2 Corinthians 7:1)
    2. Based on a spiritual motivation
    3. Based on a reverence for God
  2. PRAY FOR THE RIGHT THINGS (Ephesians 5:1-2)

    1. What changes a persons thought about their spouse? Marriage
    2. Pray to love your spouse
    3. Ask God to show you one way to love them like they have never been loved before
    4. Ask
  3. KEEP THE RIGHT FOCUS (Luke 6:41-42)

  1. If you think your spouse is the worse sinner, Jesus was talking to you
  2. We are not called to judge our people, but to love them
  3. We are called to encourage them
  4. We are called to honor and respect them

What about you?

  1. What would it look like if every relationship in your life were centered on God?
  2. Commit to pray daily for the relationships in your life.
  3. If you are not married, only get into a relationship with a God centered person.
