(Genesis 1:3-2:3)

God does perfect work...still.

  1. 6 DAYS WORK

    1. Day one- light (1 John 1:7) (Psalm 36:9) (James 1:17)
      1. No source but God (God breathed, creative spirit of God)
      2. First thing created by the breath of God is light
      3. Evening and morning 1 day (New day is when light returns)
    2. Day two- water seperation
      1. Water canopy
      2. Water on earth
    3. Day three- land, seas, plants
      1. Land formed (rising and deeps)
      2. All plants
      3. At age
    4. Day four- stars, sun, and moon
      1. Light is assigned to a source
        1. Light to divide day and night
        2. To serve as signs
        3. For days and years
      2. Forms what had already been created
      3. God needed no extra time or effort to form the Universe
    5. Day five- water creatures, winded creatures
      1. All things in the water
      2. All things in the air
      3. Plurality of animals
    6. Day six- animals and man
      1. All things on land
      2. Man (proof not man written)
      3. In the likeness of God (The spiritual nature of God)
        1. This was shattered by sin and restored by Christ
    7. Day seven- God rested
      1. The work of creation is finished
      2. God pauses in rest to declare it very good
      3. No evening mentioned (When we come to Heaven, no evenings)

    1. This is a history of the beginning of history of mankind. Not a different account be the expansion of the details of the first account. (Genesis 2:4)

    2. Generations

    1. Man created with a personal touch (Genesis 2:5-7)
      1. There was no garden, rain, or man to work the garden (Genesis 2:5-6)
      2. God made a man by hand, and gave man life with a kiss (Genesis 2:7)
    2. Man given a job
      1. Yhwh makes a garden (Genesis 2:8-9)
      2. Garden of 4 rivers (two are still here) (Genesis 2:10-14)
      3. God puts the man in the garden to tend it (Genesis 2:15)
    3. Man given a command (Genesis 2:16-17)
      1. Eat anything you want (Genesis 2:16)
      2. Do not eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17)
    4. Man given a mate (Genesis 2:18-25)
      1. God sees the need (Genesis 2:18)
      2. God makes the man see the need (Genesis 2:19-20)
      3. God makes a woman (Genesis 2:20-22) (Genesis 1:27)
      4. Adam gets it (Genesis 2:23)
      5. The Divine order for mankind (Genesis 2:24-25)

What about you?

  1. Know your worth in the picture of God creating you as he did Adam.
  2. Know the job God has given you to do.
  3. Be the man God made you to be for others.
