The Curse

The curse is real, the cure is grace.

1. GOD CALLS AND CONFRONTS (Genesis 3:8-13)

   1. They saw (they clothed themselves) They heard (They hid)- guilt (Genesis 3:8)
   2. God spoke to Adam - only (Genesis 3:9)
   3. The confrontation and excuses (Genesis 3:10)
   4. Fear because of guilt and exposure to God
   5. Blame begins (Genesis 3:12-13)

2. GOD CURSES (Genesis 3:14-15)

   1. The Serpent
      1. Eat dust
      2. The War
      3. Protoevanglium (Genesis 3:15)
      4. Curse goes from physical to foreshadowing Christ
   2. The Woman (Genesis 3:16)
      1. Pain in childbearing
      2. Desire to rule the husband (In function, not importance)
   3. The Man (Genesis 3:17-19)
      1. Because you listened to HER voice and not mine “I commanded”
      2. Ground cursed
      3. Work hard in order to eat (no more free lunch)
      4. Then you die

3. GOD COVERS (Genesis 3:20-24)

1. Eve gets her name - Adam still trust God
2. God makes a sacrifice - death
3. God protects man - grace
4. God drives man out - same as Pharaoh driving Israelites out

1. Take responsibility for your sin.
2. God still shows up when we sin to recover us to himself.
