  1. JACOB MISUNDERSTANDS GOD

    1. Jacob grew up around God (Abraham and Isaac had to have told him)
    2. Jacob somehow missed God (Genesis 27:20)
    3. Jacob comes to a “certain place”

  2. JACOB ENCOUNTERS GOD

    1. Not the most comfortable place
    2. A ladder
    3. a renewed promise

  3. JACOB FOLLOWS GOD

  1. Jacob recognizes God
  2. Jacob sets up a memorial stone
  3. Jacob makes a vow
