Problems with Passivity

The passivity of man creates problems.

  1. JACOB BREAKS HIS PROMISE (Gen. 33:18-20)

    1. Jacob promised to build an altar at Bethel (Genesis 28:20-22)
    2. His decision is detrimental to the family

  2. JACOB FAILS HIS FAMILY (Gen. 34:1-4) (Genesis 34:5-7,13)

    1. Wives
    2. Daughter Dinah
    3. Sons

  3. JACOB FAILS IN NEGOTIATION AND RESPONSE(Genesis 34:8-12,13-30)

  1. Allows the offenders to set terms without apology
  2. Allows sons to set the terms
