Walk Humbly...

It takes humility to honor God.

1. INTRODUCTION

   1. “The way God works is through Prayer. If it is just through gifts, that will lead to pride. Prayer never leads to pride. The unrealness of Christianity is caused by Prayerlessness.”

2. HUMILITY IS CRUCIAL TO FAITH (Genesis39:21)

   1. “The shield of faith is not big enough to cover a puffed up man.”
   2. God was with Joseph, and he was aware
   3. Joseph has learned dependence on God
   4. Humility shows an awareness of our weakness
   5. There is no place for pride
   6. Humility does not withstand scrutiny

3. HUMILITY IS CRUCIAL TO FAITHFULNESS(Genesis 39:22-23)

1. “I can take all kinds of testing it is just for a second.”
2. Joseph continues to be faithful to God
3. Joseph continues to do the right thing in a bad situation
4. Joseph served the prisoners and the prison warden
5. Humility does not think too much of self

4. HUMILITY IS CRUCIAL TO TRUST (Genesis 40:1,4,8)
   1. “Learn to pillow yourself on the Lord’s promises and lay your head n His lap”
   2. Humility trusts God
   3. We can trust our circumstances have been ordered by God
   4. Trust enables us to serve
   5. Trust enables endurance V.HUMILITY IS CRUCIAL TO PATIENCE (Genesis 40:4,21) (Genesis 41:1)
   6. “Success is determined by how well you get up again.”
   7. Patience is endurance
   8. Patience digs in and grinds it out
   9. Patience does the work and depends on God for the results
