Destitute Followers

Matthew 5:1-12; Galatians 5:22-26

    1. Blessed
    2. Poor
    3. Theirs is the Kingdom of God
    4. This is a bomb drop
    1. God expects return on His investment in you.
    2. Fruit
      1. Gain on God’s investment
      2. 9 fold not 9 different. All 9 should be present.
    3. Love
      1. Agape (Noun) Agapao (verb)
      2. “Self denial in order that I may give myself to the one loved for their sake, seeking nothing in return.” John 3:16
      3. This makes being poor in spirit possible
        1. It enables us to trust God
        2. It enables us to give ourselves away
        3. Love creates missionaries where they live, work, sleep and play. (1) The “vision” of the church never changes. (2) Lead people to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and disciple them immediately. (3) That happens “here” as well as “there”.

What about you?

  1. Search your hearts with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to see where you are self-sufficient.
  2. Repent and adopt the understanding that you are poor in spirit.
  3. Know the love of God and give Him return on His investment in you.
