A God Like This

By Stewart McCarter, December 11, 2022

The Word became flesh

  1. A GOD WHO BECAME A MAN
    1. Incarnation: To take a particular form or state
    2. God took on a human nature (John 1:14)
    3. The Trinity were all involved in the incarnation ((Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:35; John 1:14; Acts 2:30; Romans 8:3; Galatians 4:4; Philippians 2:7)
    4. Jesus personally accomplished the incarnation, it did not just happen to Him. ((John 1:1; John 6:38; 2 Corinthians 8:9; Philippians 2:6,7; Galatians 4:4)
  2. A GOD WHO COULD BE UNDERSTOOD
    1. Jesus did not cease to be God when He was incarnated
    2. Jesus became fully human so that we could see and know God (John 1:18; Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 4:15)
  3. A GOD WHO CAN BE TRUSTED
  1. Jesus identified Himself with us (Hebrews 4:15; John 15:1)
  2. Jesus was born of a virgin because of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:18-20; Luke 1:34,35; Hebrews 10:5)
  3. The Holy Spirit’s involvement assures us of the sinlessness of Jesus Christ
  4. The Virgin Birth was prophesied (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-20; Luke 1:34-35)
  1. A GOD WHO SHOULD BE WORSHIPED
    1. Consciously - purposeful times of worship
    2. Completely - nothing but Christ
    3. Commonly - Everything in our life should be an act of worship

What about you?

  2. Jesus can be trusted. Are you trusting Him with everything in your life?
  3. How do you worship God daily?
