God keeps His promises.

I.HE WAS PROMISED (Genesis 3:15) (Luke 2:1-5) A. Angels (pre-existence, Son of God, Heaven knows) B. First hint in Genesis 3:15 C. Developed though the Old Testament (John 5:39) (Luke 24:25-27) D. Star - looked for in Babylon since Daniel

  1. HE WAS HUMBLED (Luke 2:6-7)

    1. Manger (has the word mange in it!)
    2. Within reach
    3. Announced to simple shepherds
    4. He was involved, not acted upon
    5. Has to live out his life, our righteousness (Philippians 3:9)
  2. HE WAS GOING TO DIE (1 Peter 1:18-20) (Luke 2:7,11)

  1. Swaddling cloth (mummy clothes)
  2. He came to save people from their sin
  3. He came to live and die as a human to be our substitute
  1. HE WILL SAVE YOU

    1. All of this is so you can know He will save you
  2. THE STORY IS CONDENSED IN LUKE 2

    1. He was promised, He came, He lived a perfect life, He died, was buried, He rose again.
    2. We come to communion to remember all that Jesus did

What about you?

  1. Surrender to Jesus now.
  2. Serve Jesus with all of your life.
