Who is Our Father?

Nahum 1:2-7

(Nahum 1:2-7)

“When you know the character of God, it leads you to repentance.”

Immutable - not capable of or susceptible to change

Transcendent - “beyond the limits of all possible experience and knowledge

Immanense - being within the limits of possible experience or knowledge

  1. OUR FATHER IS DIVINELY JEALOUS FOR THOSE HE LOVES (Nahum 1:2-3)

    1. Define divine jealousy
    2. God has the right to rule over His creation because He is God
    3. Jealous
    4. Justice
    5. Slow to anger and great in power
      1. Have revenge on His enemies
      2. Bring justice to those who oppose Him
  2. OUR FATHER IS OMNIPOTENT IN POWER (Nahum 1:3-6)

    1. Controls the storm
    2. Controls the oceans
    3. Controls the Nations
    4. Controls the Earth (earthquakes)
    5. Controls the punishment of the wicked
  3. OUR FATHER IS MERCIFUL TO HIS CHILDREN (Nahum 1:7)

  1. God is a stronghold in the midst of His vengeance and power
  2. God knows those who trust Him
  3. Malachi 3:16
  4. Malachi 4:1-2
