The churches mission: To make less of ourself and more of Jesus Christ!

  1. EMBRACING HUMILITY (John 1:29-30; 3:29-30)

    1. John points to Jesus and proclaims Who He is and What He will do
    2. John is centered on preparing people for and proclaiming to people that Jesus is the Messiah
    3. John’s proclamation cost him two disciples
    4. John shows total joy and acceptance of his role
    5. John always points to Jesus Christ
  2. INVITING PEOPLE TO EXPERIENCE JESUS CHRIST (John 1:32-51)

    1. The Church should point everyone to Jesus, not to the church
    2. The Church should understand it is the body of Christ
    3. The Church is made up of individual cells (people) so it is dependent on every cell doing its assignment
    4. We must bring people to Christ and help them through discipleship
    5. Andrew and Philip follow John’s example and pattern
  3. CHRIST NOTICES (John 1:50-51)

  1. God wants to do bigger things than we can imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21)
  2. We are given the power to do the task assigned (we cannot do it apart from the Holy Spirit)
