Matthew 28:18-20

You cannot be a student of Jesus if you are not doing the homework

1. COMPLETE THE GREAT COMMISION Matthew 28:18-20

   1. The great commission has 3 tasks.
   2. No part of the command of Christ is optional
   3. “Teach to observe”
      1. The first “teach” is to make them a student (disciple)
      2. The second “teach” is to instruct how to do what Jesus commanded

2. TEACH TO TEACH THE TEACHER TO TEACHT 2 Timothy 2:2

   1. Timothy had to hear it first
   2. Timothy heard it in the presence of witnesses (many!)
   3. “Entrust” to faithful men
   4. Who are able to teach others

3. USE THE FIRST CHURCH AS A PATTERN Acts 2:42

1. Devoted (Earnestly paying attention to)
2. The Apostles’ teaching
   1. Apostle - a delegate ambassador
   2. Teaching - instruction

Conclusion:

1. Who are you teaching?
2. Who is teaching you?
3. How much is too much?]

Action:

1. If you are not doing both of these things, repent and obey
   1. You are being disobedient
   2. If you cannot name the two names of people you are a) discipline and b) witnessing to
2. If you are lost, you need to repent and be saved
   1. Come to Jesus first
