A New Beginning

Every day is a new day of mercy, but one day closer to judgment.

1. GOD'S MERCIES Lamentations 3:22-24

   1. Every day is a new opportunity to be:
      1. Thankful
      2. Hopeful
      3. Expectant
      4. Obedient

2. GOD'S EXPECTATION Philippians 3:13-16

   1. If you are alive, you are not there yet
   2. God wants you to put yesterday in yesterday
   3. Forget the good and the bad
   4. Press forward to the prize, which is Christ Jesus

3. GOD'S RECKONING 2 Corinthians 5:9-11

1. The goal of each day is to please Jesus the Christ
   1. There is a judgment for Christians
2. Every Christian will appear before His judgement seat
   1. Judged for what we have done in our body, good or bad
   2. Description in 1 Corinthians 3:9-17
      1. We labor together
      2. The foundation is laid
      3. We build upon it
      4. The materials with which we build is our choice
      5. Our work will be tested by fire at the judgment seat
      6. Only the good stuff will remain
      7. Some will suffer loss but still be saved
      8. Do not defile God's temple (the word is plural)
   3. Any crowns we receive we will return Revelation 4:10

Conclusion:

1. Tomorrow begins 2024:
   1. How will you live each day?
   2. How will you start each day?
   3. How will you account for each day?

Invitation: No matter how you have lived life up until now, this is a new day of mercy. Start now, move forward, be a follower of Christ.
