The Power of Ambassadors

2 Corinthians 6:1-13

2 Corinthians 6:1-13

Being an ambassadors includes total surrender of self.

  1. RESPOND TO GOD'S GRACE WITH URGENCY (2 Corinthians 6:1-2)

    1. Do not receive Gods’ grace in vain
      1. Do not work with it
      2. Do not give it his heart
      3. Through sloth, make it ineffectual by not doing all he can to express it through good works. Anselm of Canterbury (1033-1109)
    2. Embrace the urgency of salvation
    3. Seize the Moment with gratitude
  2. ENDURE TRIALS WITH FAITH AND PERSEVERANCE (2 Corinthians 6:3-10)

    1. Steadfastness against hardships
      1. General Suffering (afflictions, hardships, calamities)
      2. Suffering endured at the hand of others (beatings, imprisonments, riots)
      3. Suffering endured by self discipline (labors, sleepless nights, hunger)
    2. Resilience in Faith
      1. Purity
      2. Knowledge
      3. Patience
      4. Kindness
      5. The Holy Spirit
      6. Genuine love
      7. Truthful speech
      8. Power of God
      9. Weapons of warfare for the right hand and the left
    3. Refinement through trials
      1. Honor and dishonor
      2. Slander and praise
      3. Impostors and yet are true
      4. Unknown and yet well known
      5. Dying and and yet we live
      6. Punished and yet not killed
      7. Sorrowful yet always rejoicing
      8. Poor yet making many rich
      9. As having nothing yet possessing everything
  3. LIVE AS AN AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST (2 Corinthians 6:11-13)

  1. Embody reconciliation and love
  2. Extend hospitality and Love
  3. Testify to Gods’ transformative power

Conclusion:

  1. Seize the Moment in evangelism
  2. Strengthen your faith in trials
  3. Live out radical hospitality
