The Power of the Truth

(2 Corinthins 11:1-15)

A lie can look more like the truth than the truth when it is not challenged. God:

1. THE NATURE OF THE CHURCH (2 Corinthians 11:1-2)

   1. Paul feels jealous for the church because of the nature of the Church
      1. Because he is a friend of the Bridegroom and they are His bride
      2. Paul wants to present the Church as a pure virgin to Christ
   2. Accepting another gospel soils the church and is adultery
   3. Paul is a true friend of the Bridegroom

2. THE NATURE OF SATAN (2 Corinthians 11:14)

   1. Satan can look like and Angel of Light
      1. A subtle serpent (doubt)
      2. A roaring lion (fear)
      3. An angel of light (deception)

3. THE NATURE OF THE DECEIVED (2 Corinthians 11:3-6,13,15)

1. Led astray by cunning in your thought
2. You accept and put up with another gospel
3. Have a different spirit (than the Holy Spirit)
4. Preach another gospel
5. Polish in speaking does not equal truth
6. Paul shows a contrast (7-12)
   1. Paul shows pure motives in serving the church
   2. Paul had support from others
   3. Paul will boast of the work of Christ in Corinth
   4. Paul will continue to undermine these false teachers (13)
7. They will perish (15)

1. How can you help Calvary be a pure bride of Christ?
2. Do you recognize Satan’s deception in your life?
3. Be on guard through Fellowship, Bible, Prayer, Fasting.
