Grateful for the Second Coming of Christ

Acts 1:1-11

We are thankful for the Second Coming of Christ because it gives us purpose, time, and hope.

1. The Gospel (Acts 1:1-3)

   1. The content of the first book
   2. The beginning of the gospel
   3. The Resurrection AFTER He suffered
   4. Forty days of teaching

2. The Promise (Acts 1:4-5)

   1. Ordered them to stay put in Jerusalem in order to wait for the promise of the Father
   2. The promise was the Holy Spirit, to come from the Father through Jesus Christ

3. The Question, The Answer, the Task (Acts 1:6-8)

1. Then they ask a question
2. The answer is do not worry about it
3. Then Jesus gives them a task

4. The Problem (Acts 1:9-11)

   1. Jesus starts going up
   2. The kept staring upward
   3. Two angels give a rebuke
   4. Why are you standing around looking up, He will come back

5. The Second Coming (Revelation 19:11-21)

   1. Revelation 19:11-21

Conclusion:

1. Be on mission and be faithful in telling the gospel.
2. Use the gift of time given, knowing it is short, to carry out the mission.
3. Do not quit in the midst of struggles, Jesus is coming! Maranatha.
