Justified by Faith

Romans 4:1-12

Faith creates works, works (without faith) creates wrath.

God:

1. There is only one way to justification (Romans 4:1-8)

   1. Abraham is the example
   2. Abraham believed God
   3. What is the payoff?

2. Justification is available for everyone (Romans 4:9-17)

   1. Abraham is the example, it is not just for the Jews
   2. Abraham was not circumcised when he believed God
   3. Abraham is the father of everyone who walks in the footsteps of faith (12-17)

3. Justification by faith caused Abraham to grow in his belief (Romans 4:16-25)

1. Forgiveness and grace depends on faith (so all can obtain it, Jew and Gentile)
2. Righteousness is counted to us by faith as well
