(Romans 7:7-12) The Christian life is a battlefield and victory is only possible through Jesus Christ our Lord. KNOW YOUR ENEMY (Romans 7:7–12) Action: Don’t blame the Law—expose the real enemy: sin. A. The Law isn’t the problem. “The law is holy, righteous, and good”. It shows us the standard. B. Sin is the problem. It hijacks the law and uses it to trap and accuse us. C. Sin awakens rebellion in us. Like a sign that says “Do not touch,” it makes us want to touch. OWN YOUR CONDITION (Romans 7:13–20) Action: Stop pretending you’ve arrived—get real about the fight within. A. The law reveals the death-producing nature of sin. We want to do right but don’t—why? Sin lives in us. There’s a war inside: the Spirit-led “me” versus the flesh-driven “me.” ENGAGE THE WAR (Romans 7:21–25) Action: Fight daily, not for victory—but from the victory already won. A. The conflict feels impossible (v.21–23). But it’s not hopeless. B. Paul cries out for deliverance—not escape, but rescue. The only answer: “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” STEP INTO FREEDOM (Romans 8:1) Action: Walk like someone who’s been set free—because you have. A. “There is therefore now no condemnation…” B. God didn’t just save you from hell—He saved you for victory now. Victory doesn’t mean perfection; it means progress, power, and perseverance. Conclusion: Choose Your Role Today You are either: 1. A prisoner of sin—even as a Christian who never steps into battle. 2. A sinner without hope, needing the first step of salvation. 3. Or a soldier, saved and suited up in Christ, learning to fight daily in the Spirit.
