The Prophet in the Stable

Romans 16:25-27

(Romans 16:25-27)

Jesus is the embodiment of God and the subject of all Old Testament prophecies.

  1. The Strength of Christ. (Romans 16: 25)
  1. Only God is able to strengthen you. - Paul begins not with man’s ability, but with God’s power. God alone is the One who fortifies, stabilizes, and secures His people.
  2. God strengthens through the gospel - Paul says this strengthening comes “according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ.” The gospel is not just good advice; it is divine empowerment.
  3. This is the revelation of the Mystery
  1. The prophetic fingerprint of Christ (Romans 16:26)
  1. The prophetic writings are not random predictions
  2. They formed, as Lee Strobel said, “a prophetic fingerprint.”
  3. Prophetic Fingerprint: Jesus's life, death, and resurrection are the undeniable confirmation of the Old Testament Scriptures. From the promise of a virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14) to the named place of His birth (Micah 5:2) and His eternal kingship (Isaiah 9:6-7), the prophecies create a unique “prophetic fingerprint” that only He could match.
  4. The Odds: As the mathematician Peter Stoner calculated, the numerical probability of just eight specific prophecies being fulfilled in one man is astronomically high—10 to the 17th power. Jesus fulfilled over 300. This is not chance; it is the command of the eternal God.
  5. Jesus is the mystery revealed in history.
  6. Made know to all the nations by those writings
  7. By the command of eternal God
  8. To bring about the obedience of faith
  9. The Purpose of the revelation
  1. The end of the doxology
  1. He is the only wise God - The Only Wise God: This powerful plan, this precise fulfillment of centuries of prophecy culminating in the vulnerable Messiah, can only be attributed to the “only wise God.” His wisdom is displayed not in raw power, but in the mystery, the timing, and the simple, yet profound, means (it’s a stable, it’s a cross) He is Aseity—self-sufficient, yet He willingly became dependent for us. Have you accepted the only Wise God, or are you depending on your own wisdom?
  2. He deserves the glory! - Glory Forevermore: The final, necessary response to the mystery revealed at Christmas is adoration. “To the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.” His wisdom, power, and love, made manifest in the Prophet born in the stable, demand our perpetual worship and fellowship, beginning now and extending into the eternity He made possible.Humanity tried to become God in the Garden. That rebellion earned death. But Jesus took that death so humanity could know God, worship God, and eternally glorify God. Our only response: Forever fellowshipping, worshipping, loving, and knowing God, all because the Prophet entered the world not with a crown—but with a crib.Through Jesus Christ! - He is the Only way!
  3. AMEN!!!!!
