  1. What does the greeting on your voicemail say? Do you even know? Have you ever used something creative for your greeting (or even thought about it)? What was it? Or what is a good idea (for someone else) to use?
  1. Read Colossians 3:15-17 and review the outline. Note the progression from heart, to words, to song, to actions in this passage. What does that tell you about how God works in our lives?
  1. What are some barriers that keep Christ’s peace from ruling in a believer’s heart?
  1. In John 14:27, Jesus promises a peace that is different from the world’s peace. How is it different?
  1. In vs. 16, it says the message of Christ should “dwell” in us. How is this more than just going to church or reading the Bible?
  1. In vs. 17, we are instructed to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. Everything, really? What would probably need to change right away in your life?
  1. Paul repeatedly emphasizes gratitude in this passage. How does a spirit of thankfulness shape our ability to experience and extend peace to others?
  1. If you were to imagine Jesus leaving you a personal voicemail based on Col. 3:15-17, what might He say? Put it in your own words and personalize it for you.
