By Doug Kyle, May 24, 2026

Whenever we face an uncertain future, God always gives us a thread of hope. In today’s passage we discover what to look for (as well as what NOT to look for) in life’s transitions.

Questions for Further Reflection & Discussion

  1. What’s one trip, move, job change, or life transition where you felt completely unsure of what was coming next? Looking back now, what do you remember most about that season?
  1. Read Joshua 2 and review the sermon outline. What stood out to you most from the Sunday message?
  1. Joshua sends the spies into Jericho with very little detail. Why do you think God so often gives us enough light for the next step, but not the whole road map?
  1. The spies expected danger in Jericho, but probably did not expect help to come from Rahab. Have you ever experienced God’s help coming from an unexpected place or person?
  1. Rahab tied the scarlet cord in the window before Jericho ever fell. What are some modern-day examples of acting in faith before we see results?
  1. Which of these three “road map” desires is hardest for you to release right now: clear directions, comfortable settings, predictable outcomes? What makes that one especially difficult?
  1. One of the surprising themes in Joshua 2 is that God was already working before the spies even arrived. How does it encourage you to remember that God may already be at work in situations that feel uncertain to you?
