  1. What's something you're currently waiting for (a package, a project, a vacation, to finish college, a grandchild's visit, an answered prayer, etc.)? How patient are you when it comes to waiting?
  1. Read 2 Peter 3:8-9 and review the sermon outline. What stood out to you from the Sunday message? What challenged, encouraged, or surprised you?
  1. Peter says that “with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” How does that verse challenge the way you typically think about God's timing?
  1. Can you think of a season when you were convinced God was moving too slowly, but later realized His timing was actually good? What changed your perspective?
  1. Which of these three truths speaks most directly to your current season –> God is protecting us, God is pursuing us, or God is building perseverance in us? Why?
  1. Verse 9 says God is “not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” How does God's concern for lost people help explain what sometimes feels like a delay in Christ's return?
  1. Perseverance is more than simply hanging on. According to 2 Peter 1:5-7, it is part of a growing and maturing faith. What is the difference between merely enduring a difficult season and allowing God to use that season to shape your character?
