      2. Given to a demon
      3. Given to Satan
    2. Most likely Satan, as it is given to the star that “has fallen” (v1)
  3. The bottomless pit
    1. Dr. Stanley Toussaint believes this is referring to the shaft of the abyss

      1. Completely on those who still refuse to follow Christ
      2. Pain is similar to that of a scorpion – painful, not necessarily deadly
      3. Those afflicted will seek death, but will not be able to find it
    9. At this point, the secret spiritual battle is finally seen in real life.
  5. Locusts are most likely not locusts (like)
    1. Resemble a swarm as the demons fly out of prison
    2. Locusts don’t have a king (Proverbs 30:27)

      1. Murders
      2. Sorceries (drugs)
      3. Theft
      4. Sexual immorality

  • One popular theory about all of this is that it will be modern warfare. This is the difficulty for John in his explanation. Many use the idea of the apache helicopters: their look, their abilities and operated by humans. His only way to explain this is with his limited vocabulary and knowledge.
  • Others believe it is simply a demonic army having free reign at first and then to inflict death.
  • Either way, this will absolutely be a terrifying time.
