Romans 8:14-15 (NKJV)

Trusting God is connected to our revelation of His Love for us

  1. Don’t let disappointments dim your expectations

  2. No matter how powerful we think God is, if we’re not convinced that He loves it will hinder our faith and trust in Him

    a. When we know how much God Loves us, we’ll be convinced that He’ll use His ability on our behalf

  3. You are a spirit and The Holy Spirit will lead you and teach you how to run your family, marriage, ministry, and or business

2 Corinthians 3:17 (NKJV) John 16:13 (NKJV)

  1. Your leader is the spirit of truth!

    a. A byproduct of Truth is freedom!

    b. It’s not enough to believe the Holy Spirit, we have to let HIM lead, and guide us

Romans 8:16 (NKJV) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

  1. The Spirit Himself bears witness with MY spirit

    a. With- means together, it’s speaking of an agreement and a union

    b. The Holy Spirit and my spirit will agree when things are right, and disagree when they’re not

What does a Witness do?

  1. A witness testifies what they know

    a. A good witness will confirm evidence

    b. The Holy Spirit is a good witness and He brings confirmation and evidence

  2. Your answer is inward, wait on that witness when you’re making decisions

    a. If you don’t have agreement or peace on the inside of you, don’t do it!

  3. The Greatest thing you and I can do in life, is obey the witness of the Holy Spirit

  4. The Lord did not leave us helpless, he sent help, He sent us a comforter to lead us, teach us, guide us, remind us

Decisions Determine Direction

  1. Your decisions pave the way to your path

    a. Life is Choice driven

    b. We need help making decisions and we have help in the Holy Spirit

  2. You have a helper on the inside of you, who witnessed your creation and overheard your purpose for living He’s the Spirit of Truth and He knows exactly what you should do

    a. The bible is full of people hearing from the Lord for example:

Acts 8:29 (NKJV), Acts 10:19 (NKJV), Acts 11:12 (NKJV), Acts 13:2 (NKJV)

  1. In the bible, we see the Holy Spirit said something, He’s still saying something today

Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)

Don’t limit your life to your mind

  1. Yes, we’re supposed to use our minds and think about next steps

    a. But we’re not supposed to make decisions without consulting the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:16 (NKJV) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God

Application: How do I learn to be Led by the Holy Spirit

  1. Trust the Holy Spirit

    a. We don’t have to know everything Romans 8:26-28 (NKJV)

  2. Listen, and obey the witness of the Holy Spirit

    a. Quiet your mind and still your soul Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 1 Kings 19:12 (NKJV)

  3. Choose heart over head Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)

    a. Yes, Use your head, gather information and then run it all decisions through your heart

  4. Be full of Thanks 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19 (NKJV) .

  5. Don’t override the check in your spirit 1 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV)

  6. Receive Truth Mark 11:24(NKJV)

    a. Receiving is taking, if you don’t take it, you’ll never possess it

  7. Speak Truth Luke 6:45 (NKJV), John 6:63 (NKJV)
