The Faith Walk Part 6

"Knowing God"

By Lead Servant Pastor Phreddie Minnifield, July 25, 2020

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV), 2 Peter 1:2-4 (NKJV)

The amount of faith that you operate in, is connected to your knowledge of God

  1. There are two things that will hinder us from operating in Faith

    a. Not having real knowledge of God’s Word or letting the Word slip or be choked by the knowledge of the world.

  2. It’s right to be informed of what’s going on in the world

    a. However it’s wrong to be influenced by the world

  3. There is worldly/carnal knowledge and there is godly knowledge

    a. Fear comes through carnal knowledge, Faith and all things that pertain unto life come through Godly knowledge.

Your spirit doesn’t struggle to produce Faith

Galatians 5:22-23 (TPT)

  1. Faith is a part of the fruit of the Spirit.

    a. It will automatically be the product of our abiding in the Word, which is Jesus (John 1:1)

  2. If we don’t abide in God’s Word, the Fruit of Faith is not being produced in our lives

(James 1:7-8 NKJV)

The Word of God is an amazing filter

Matthew 6:22(NKJV), Matthew 6:22 (NASB)

  1. What an awesome promise, if our eye is good and clear, we will be full of light.

    a. That means that if your attention is focused on God through His Word, then you will be full of what His Word produces.

  2. Most of our battles could be avoided if we would just be wise concerning that which is good and simple concerning that which is evil

Romans 16:19 (NKJV)

Keep pushing forward

Hebrews 11:15 (NKJV)

  1. If Abraham would have been carnally minded and dragging his past into his future he would have been tempted to turn back.

  2. A common mistake that people make is they try to cast down the carnal mind

    a. Since our minds have already been grounded in the knowledge of this world, it’s impossible to just cast that carnal mind out.

Romans 12:2 (NJKV)

  1. You are very capable of living a life of faith.

    a. It hasn’t been God who failed to give us faith, we have all been given the measure of faith (Rom. 12:3)

Application: How to receive knowledge of God

  1. Spend time with Him

John 15:1-4

a. Designate quiet time with God

  1. Meditate in the Word

Joshua 1:8

a. Focus on a scripture until it becomes a word picture

  1. Commit to serving God

Romans 12:1-2

a. Let go of the past, give yourself to His will

  1. Ask God to give you knowledge of Him

Ephesians 1:17-23

Pray Ephesians 1:17-23.

Believe that you receive, and watch faith begin to be produced in your life.

God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, I desire to know you more, open the eyes of my understanding, enlighten me by your Spirit; show me the hope of Your calling, show me the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, show me the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power which You worked in Christ Jesus when You raised Him from the dead and sat Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. You put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
