Lord of the Harvest

"It's Harvest Time"

By Lead Servant Pastor Phreddie Minnifield, April 11, 2021

Matthew 9:35-38 (NKJV),Luke 10:1-5 (NKJV)

The Power of the Word

  1. People are born again through the power of the Word of God not through prayer. (Romans 10:14-17 and 1 Peter 1:23)

  2. The incorruptible seed brings an ever-living harvest

  3. Prayer is very important, but it is not a substitute for the Gospel

(Romans 1:16-17)

  1. When we petition God for others to be saved we’re missing it!

    a. We don’t have to ask the Lord to save people.

    b. Salvation is His will 2 Peter 3:9, John 3:16, and 1 John 2:2

Kingdom Focus

  1. What do we pray concerning others coming to the Lord?

    a. Pray that the Lord would send laborers across their paths, They need to hear the Word (Romans 10:14-17)

    b. Also, we should bind the influence of the god of this world (Satan) who tries to blind them to spiritual truth (2 Corinthians 4:4)

  2. God is more motivated to save our loved ones than we are.

    a. We need to become a channel/vessel for Him to flow through us

    b. We do that by sharing the good news (Gospel) and/or praying that other Believers will come across their paths that will do the same.

  3. It’s about enhancing the Kingdom

    a. It’s about multiplying the work of the Messiah

Luke 10:1-5 (NKJV)

  1. Before there’s a Harvest, there’s a sending forth

Fresh Commitment

Luke 9:57-62 (NKJV), Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

  1. Be willing to give up what feels familiar to receive something amazing

Sense of Urgency

  1. Jesus had a strategy as to where He would go.

  2. Our Lord wants people born again, healed, and delivered more than we do.

    a. We need to recognize that God doesn’t move without people

John 15:4-5 (KJV) Acts 17:28 (NKJV)

Persecution and Provision

  1. Accepting your assignment comes with persecution and the need to persevere

    a. Those who cannot endure hardness will not be good soldiers of Jesus Christ 2 Timothy 2:3

  2. Jesus was telling those who represented Him that they didn’t have to provide for themselves.

    1. He would meet their needs through those they ministered to.

    2. The part about greeting no one was apparently about stressing their focus. They were not to get engaged in anything else. They needed to keep sharing the Gospel the main thing. All this applies to us today as well.

    3. We are supposed to extend peace to everyone we meet. If they will receive it, then they will be blessed. If they reject it, we should let them reject it, but we shouldn’t make that decision for them.

  3. The Lord of the Harvest has need of you it’s harvest time

  1. Will you accept your appointment, will you obey and be sent out,

  2. Will you participate in the harvest, in the great awakening?

  3. Will you seek first your Kingdom assignment?

John 8:12 (NKJV)

Jesus took the sin and the shame on our behalf so that we could light up the world

Application: How do we get involved in the Harvest

  1. Let’s Shine, be a light, speak life John 8:12

  2. Let’s abide in Him John 15:4-5

  3. Let’s seek first Matthew 6:33

  4. Let’s accept our assignments Luke 10:3

  5. Lets pray for laborers Luke 10:2

  6. Let’s endure like good soldiers 2 Timothy 2:3

  7. Let’s hold on to hope Hebrews 10:23
