John 10:10 (NASB) 2 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NKJV)

My thoughts impact my Mental Health

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV), Proverbs 21:22 (NKJV)

  1. Wisdom helps me overcome strongholds that I have trusted

    • A stronghold is something that I have placed my trust in Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
  2. It’s impossible to please God without giving Him all the trust He deserves

    • You will never have faith in someone you don’t trust
    • It’s a violation of creation, not trusting, the “one” who is worthy of your trust
    • Trust is a debt that I owe God, no one else will ever be more worthy of my trust
      Proverbs 3:5-7(NKJV)
  3. I am indebted to God to reflect His worthiness through my trust
    Mark 10:20-25 (NKJV)

    • It is very hard for a man who trust in riches to focus on God’s way of doing things
    • Supernatural Life requires faith, the very essence of faith is our trust in our creator
  4. Trust is the issue

    • Jesus will always deal with the heart because the heart is where trust comes from
    • God is looking for fellowship with those who were created in His image and His likeness
      Proverbs 21:22 (NKJV)
  5. Anything we trust in other than God is a stronghold.

    • People will always reach for what they trust when they’re in trouble
    • Whatever that is, it’s crucial to understand “that thing” has the place of God in your life
  6. You will only depend on what you truly trust

    • Our lifestyle tells us what/who we depend on
    • Our dependency is the manifestation of our trust

A stronghold is a hiding place for the demonic

  1. A hiding place that’s created through thoughts
    2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV)
  2. Wrong thinking not only empowers the enemy, but it also gives him a safe place to hide
    • Incorrect Patterns of thoughts are dwelling places for the demonic
    • Thoughts that are anchored in trusting in something other than God
  3. Not the existence of God, the Knowledge of God
  4. If I don’t see hope of a solution, I’m thinking something that wars against the knowledge of God
    • Strongholds are your personal places of trust

Hide in the goodness of God
Nahum 1:7 (NKJV)

  • We can trust in the goodness of God
    Proverbs 18:10 (NKJV).
    • Thought patterns that line up with a Supernatural Life will think redemptive thoughts
    • Strongholds are either building a hiding place for you and the Lord or for you and the enemy
      2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)

Bring every thought captive

  • Think about capturing a soldier, (a prisoner of war)

Application

  1. Capture thoughts
  2. Hang on to hope
  3. Throw down wrong thoughts
  4. Spend time with God
  5. Bring those thoughts into subjection
