Walking in Power

By Lead Servent Pastor Phreddie Minnifield, December 29, 2024

Psalms 133:1-3 (NKJV), Matthew 9:29 (NASB ‘95)

Receive the Promise of Power John 14:16-17 (NKJV) Acts 1:4-5, 8 (NKJV)

  1. What does Holy Spirit power do?
  • He Turns us into effective witnesses John 15:26 (NKJV)
  • When your testimony glorifies God, you are an effective witness
  1. What does a Witness do?

    • Testifies what they see or know
    • A good witness will confirm evidence
    • The Holy Spirit will bring confirmation and evidence (a knowing) in my spirit
  2. We must look inward and wait on that witness when we’re making decisions

    • If you don’t have peace inside of you, hold off!
    • The Greatest thing you can do in your life, is tune in and obey the witness of the Holy Spirit - Romans 8:14-15 (NKJV)
  3. When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, He gives us victory over bondage and fear

    • This “spirit of bondage” is a reference to the old sin nature. The fact that Paul said, “You did not receive the spirit of bondage again, “is a testimony that our old sin nature is meant to be totally gone from our lives
    • You have a blood bought right to be free
    • We are children of God by adoption. Jesus purchased us with His death, burial and resurrection, not for us to be spectators but for us to be disciples

Romans 8:16 (NKJV)
* God has invited us into a co-laboring role, a role we could never earn

2 Corinthians 3:17 (NKJV) * It’s not enough to be set free, the victory is in staying free * It’s not how you start, it’s about continuing that produces success - John 8:31-32

Why is this subject so important

  1. We need to know; Jesus didn't leave us helpless - John 7:38 (NASB ‘95)
    • Don’t limit your decision-making process to your head; you can be led by the Spirit of Truth
    • Decisions Determine Direction

How do I partner with the Holy Spirit

  1. Don’t limit God's hand, to my head Romans 8:26-28 (NKJV) John 20:30(NKJV) John 21:25 (NKJV)

  2. Trust the Lord with your path Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

  3. Be full of Thanks 1 Thessalonians 5:18-19 (NKJV)

  4. Expect direction Acts 8:29 (NKJV) Acts 10:19 (NKJV) Acts 11:12 (NKJV) Acts 13:2 (NKJV)

  5. Take time to listen

  6. Prioritize your prayer life

  7. Dust off your God size dream
