Principles to remember during this series

  • What we sow, we harvest.
  • We cannot grow, what we do not sow.
  • God does not multiply what we mismanage.
  • We can’t do everything, but we can do something.

What does the Bible say about generosity?

  1. For the Christian, generosity is NOT an option (1 John 3:16-18).

I John 3:17; If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?

  1. Generosity is a heart matter, not a financial matter (Matthew 6:19-21).

Matthew 6:21; Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

  1. God rewards generosity.

Luke 6:38; Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

2 Corinthians 9:6; Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.

  1. According to Jesus, living a generous life is the best way to live.

Acts 20:35; You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
