Confidence in the Lord Psalm 11:1-7

Proposition: This Psalm attributed to David exemplifies the struggle of maintaining confidence in the Lord when danger is approaching. God’s people must keep their focus on the Lord, and not their circumstances, if they are to have victory through the difficulties of life.

bachan: “tests,” vv. 4-5. This Hebrew word is literally used for scrutinizing the quality of something. It is most commonly used to describe a metal worker who is refining a precious metal. In this text it refers to the Lord testing the heart or mind of humankind.
