Stand Firm (2 Thessalonians 2B)

Dr. Alan Kurschner wrote the book, Antichrist Before the Day of the Lord. He explains the Pre-Wrath View of the 2nd Coming:

“God in his wisdom has ordained the last generation of the church to experience an unprecedented global persecution, and it could be our generation. His purpose is to purify his church, for he is coming back for a blameless bride who will have ‘steadfast endurance’ in faith even through terrible suffering.”

  1. Stand Firm in God’s Love

2 Thessalonians 2:13 (NASB), “But we should always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14 It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  1. Stand Firm in God’s Truth

2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NASB), “So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold on to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.”

C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity “ must train the habit of Faith. The first step is to recognize the fact that your moods change. The next is to make sure that, if you have once accepted Christianity, then some of its main doctrines shall be deliberately held before your mind for some time every day. That is why daily prayers and religious readings and churchgoing are necessary parts of the Christian life. We have to be continually reminded of what we believe. Neither this belief nor any other will automatically remain alive in the mind. It must be fed.”

  1. Stand Firm in God’s Strength

2 Thessalonians 2:16 (NASB), “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, 17 comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.”
