The Shepherd searches because he cares about the one sheep.

2. The Lost Coin

The woman searches because the coin was valuable to her.

A lost coin cannot be treasured. It cannot be spent. It cannot be enjoyed. It is lost.

God rejoices in the presence of his angels when the lost are found (vss. 7, 10)
