Introduction:

The most important sentence in the Bible (or the world).

I. The Verdict We Deserve

Romans 3:23 (NIV84) 23 …all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 6:23 (NIV) 23 …the wages [or the penalty] of sin is death….

The two greatest commandments:

Love God with all your heart.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

II. The Verdict We Receive

Romans 3:23-24 (NIV84) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 …and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

III. The Way We Receive that Verdict

Romans 3:22, 28 (NIV84) 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
