Made for Monday- No Such Thing As A Wasted Life

Psalms 118:24 - This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! What words would you use to describe today? The culture of the world around us puts descriptions of today all around us, all throughout our day:

4 MYTHS ABOUT WORK:

1 - WORK MATTERS WHEN IT’S FULFILLING.

We wrongly assume the greatest vocational quest is to find enjoyable work. While it’s true that enjoying your work can be an indicator that you are doing something you were created to do, it’s an insufficient answer to why work matters.

2 - WORK MATTERS BECAUSE IT PAYS THE BILLS.

3 - WORK MATTERS WHEN IT’S FOCUSED ON “SPIRITUAL THINGS.”

4 - WORK MATTERS BECAUSE IT’S A PLATFORM FOR EVANGELISM.

WHY WORK MATTERS: WORK MATTERS BECAUSE IT’S THE FIRST THING WE SEE GOD DOING.

WORK MATTERS BECAUSE IT’S THE FIRST TASK GOD GIVES TO HIS PEOPLE. Genesis 1:26-28 - Now let Us conceive a new creation—humanity—made in Our image, fashioned according to Our likeness. And let Us grant them authority over all the earth—the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, the domesticated animals and the small creeping creatures on the earth. So God did just that. He created humanity in His image, created them male and female. Then God blessed them and gave them this directive: “Be fruitful and multiply. Populate the earth. I make you trustees of My estate, so care for My creation and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that roams across the earth.”

4 WAYS GOOD HUMAN WORK PUTS GOD ON DISPLAY: 1 - IT’S A PORTRAIT OF GOD’S CHARACTER

God is a WORKER.

2 - GOOD WORK IS A MAGNIFYING GLASS FOR GOD’S CREATION

3 - GOOD WORK DISPLAYS GOD’S LOVING PROVISION

4 - GOOD WORK IS A PREVIEW OF GOD’S KINGDOM
