I DIDN’T KNOW – THE PACE WAS KILLING ME

Proverbs 14:8 – The wise man gives thought to his ways.

Luke 14:15-24 – Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’ “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’

I Thessalonians 4:11 – We urge you brothers and sisters… to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life.

We’re not fighting for a good life, we’re fighting for a good soul.

TWO WAYS OF THINKING

  1. Fast thinking – reactionary, rational, analytical and logical – current events, news articles.
  1. Slow thinking - meditation, contemplation and connection, it encourages us to be reflective and intuitive.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SLOW DOWN

  • You’re in a better position to hear God
  • Relationships will grow and deepen
  • Our purpose is strengthened
