There were some guys facing very similar ‘unknowns’ John 14:16-20 VOICE – “I will ask the Father to send you another Helper, the [Holy] Spirit of truth, who will remain constantly with you. The world does not recognize the Spirit of truth, because it does not know the Spirit and is unable to receive Him. But you do know the Spirit because He lives with you, and He will dwell in you. I will never abandon you like orphans; I will return to be with you. In a little while, the world will not see Me; but I will not vanish completely from your sight. Because I live, you will also live. At that time, you will know that I am in the Father, you are in Me, and I am in you. John 16:7 VOICE – “But the truth is that My departure will be a gift that will serve you well, because if I don’t leave, the great Helper will not come to your aid. When I leave, I will send Him to you…” God’s PROVISION for our UNKNOWN? The HOLY SPIRIT – the Great HELPER Holy Spirit 101 Holy Spirit is GOD’S PERSONAL PRESENCE Just like Jesus became the BODY of God in a tangible form, the Holy Spirit is the MIND of God that we receive when we become a follower of Jesus The Holy Spirit is also the power of God IN us & ON us for our world Acts 1:8 TPT – “…the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be filled with power. And you will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces—even to the remotest places on earth!” The Holy Spirit would ‘LIVE IN’ – this is FOR US; to CHANGE US But the Holy Spirit would also ‘COME ON’ – this is FOR OUR WORLD; to CHANGE IT The Holy Spirit is also the HEART of GOD Romans 5:5 VOICE - …the Holy Spirit that was given to us has flooded our hearts with God’s love. John 3:16 - “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only Son…” John 3:17 TPT - God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it. “We are called to a love that is beyond our ability to achieve in our humanity.” - Dallas Willard Followers of Jesus – you’ve already got the Holy Spirit IN YOU, now you just need Holy Spirit ON YOU – ASK HIM TO FILL YOU 3 Questions to ask Him: “Is there anything I’m trying to do without You?” “Is there anything You’re doing without me?” “Holy Spirit, wake me up to the Love of God inside me that needs to be let out into my world…”
