Into the Unknown – Anxiety: Better Together

By Monica Prescott, July 26, 2020

Why become ruthless in dealing with anxiety?

Matthew 13:22 LEB - And what was sown into the thorn plants—this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word and it becomes unproductive.

By letting anxiety go unchecked in my life, I am preventing the power of God’s Word from working in my life.

Anxiety is an ENEMY of GOD’S GLORY IN MY LIFE

1 Peter 5:6-7 CEB - Therefore, humble yourselves under God’s power so that he may raise you up in the last day. Throw all your anxiety onto him, because he cares about you.

Keys for OVERCOMING ANXIETY

  1. Start with humility
  2. “Throw all your anxiety onto Him…”
  1. Casting our anxiety onto God is a TOGETHER-thing - a GROUP PROJECT

1 Peter 5:6-7 CEB - Therefore, humble yourselves under God’s power so that he may raise you up in the last day. Throw all your anxiety onto him, because he cares about you.

“Anxiety is God-forgetting. It is the result of thinking that life is on your shoulders, that it is your job to figure it all out and keep things in order.” - Paul David Tripp Devotional
