Psalm 2 What the nations are doing. (v1-3) How God responds to what the nations are doing. (v4-9) The nations can rage and hold all the elections they want, but that will never negate the election of God’s Son as the one true King. The coronation of the ultimate King, Jesus Christ, took place at the empty tomb. Acts 13:32-33 God laughs because he has set his King on the throne of the universe—and his rule isn’t challenged by term limits, opposing parties, or voter fraud. His rule is ultimate and final. The resurrection made sure of that. How We Should Respond to God’s Response. (v10-12) If the early church used the claims of Psalm 2 for encouragement and peace, maybe we should do the same. Politics is important, so it’s good for Christians to be active in an election season. But politics isn’t ultimate, so we shouldn’t be anxious in an election season. Isaiah 9:6-7
