Where have you struggled to follow the way of Jesus? Has anything happened in the lives of those on your relational map who are far from God? (See the Relational Map Video) Pray In prayer, capture the things you have shared above after also inviting people to share any personal needs for prayer or support. 2. Look Up Opening God’s Word | 20–30 minutes Setting the Scene Isaiah 43 is a powerful chapter that speaks directly into despair with a message of hope. To Israel, crushed in the darkness of exile, God reminds them: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you” (43:1). He assures them of His presence in every trial (43:2), declares Himself as their God and Savior (43:3), reminds them of His unfailing love (43:4), and promises to gather them back from the ends of the earth (43:5–6). To reinforce this hope, God recalls the first Exodus (43:16–17), then shifts the vision forward to an even greater deliverance yet to come. His saving power has not diminished. Israel is therefore called not to cling to the past, but to look to the God who alone can redeem (43:19). Yet this promise reaches beyond their return from Babylon—it points toward the ultimate redemption in Christ, who brings a new covenant where God remembers sins no more (43:25; Jer 31:31). This hope finds its climax in the final renewal: “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Rev 21:5) Read Isaiah 43:19, Acts 1:8, and Psalm 96:2–3 Take turns reading the passages as a group from a couple of different translations.
