1. Look Back

Sharing Our Journey | 10–20 minutes

Praise, Thanks and Reflection

Invite people to share from one or more of the questions below.
This can be done as a whole group or in subgroups, and can also involve a worship song.

  • What are you thankful for?
  • Where have you seen God at work?
  • How has God used you?
  • How have you gone living out God’s Word since our last gathering?
  • Where have you struggled to follow the way of Jesus?
  • Has anything happened in the lives of those on your relational map who are far from God?
    (See the Relational Map Video)

Pray

In prayer, capture the things you have shared above after also inviting people to share any personal needs for prayer or support.

2. Look Up

Opening God’s Word | 20–30 minutes

Setting the Scene

It’s almost impossible not to get excited when the Lord tells you that He’s doing a new thing because we know that all things that come from God are good!
(Not always easy, and sometimes they take courage, but they are good!)

We have been praying and seeking God about what this new thing will look like and what He wants us to do.
So, set against the backdrop of this promise, we look at the New Testament church and how they behaved in Acts—and how they were blessed by their new thing springing forth.
Finally, we reflect on what Proverbs tells us about the joy of hearing and following God’s word and vision, and living in the rhythms and flow of His grace.

Read

Isaiah 43:19, Acts 4:32–35, Proverbs 29:18

Read the verses in various translations, then answer the questions associated with them.

Discuss

  • Isaiah 43:19 – What has God been impressing on you as we have been reading, hearing from, and praying over this particular verse?
Has He revealed more of the vision to you since you first read this verse?
(Feel free to share and encourage each other!)
  • Acts 4:32–35 – What strikes you as different from our lives about the way they were living?
What parts of living this way do you wish you had now?
What parts of this account make you feel a little more hesitant?
What do you think actually made them live in one accord?
  • Proverbs 29:18 – What does this verse tell us about what makes the difference and what people actually need to be blessed in the way of Acts 4?

3. Look Forward

Living Out God’s Word | 10–20 minutes

  • Think about what you feel hesitant about, or something that you long for when you look at the way the New Testament church was living in Acts.
  • Reflect on this: are there things you might need to change or surrender to be part of this work and the blessing it will bring to you and others?
(Remember, God will give you the grace you need.)
  • Does it give you any direction about what God might be wanting you to do as His “new thing” springs forth?

Pray

Let It Spring Forth ends with a Gift Day to support the Barossa Church Plant and a range of upgrades at HVC.
Both areas will enable us to reach further, faster in our mission to make disciples who make disciples.

Begin your prayer time in silent prayer, asking God to reveal to you how and how much you can pledge to give on the Gift Day.

  • Pray for one another as you feel led and according to what God has revealed to you.
  • Pray for those on your Relational Map.
