Psalm 13:1-6 - How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? 2 How long must I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart day after day? How long will my enemy exalt himself and triumph over me? 3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; Give light (life) to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death, 4 And my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken.

Depression, is characterized by excessively negative views of yourself, the world, and the future. People with depression also have difficulty experiencing pleasure in the ways they normally would.

Thirty-five million Americans (more than 16 percent of the population) suffer from depression severe enough to warrant treatment at some time in their lives. Matthew 26:37-39 - 37 Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is swallowed up in sorrow —to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with Me.” 39 Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed.

Psalm 42:1-11 - My tears have been my food day and night, while all day long people say to me, “Where is your God?” 5 Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? 6 I am deeply depressed; 9 I will say to God, my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? 11 Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me?

WHEN OUR FEELINGS ATTEMPT TO CONTROL US WE MUST GOD’S GOODNESS.

Colossians 3:15 - Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers].

John 14:27 - “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.

DEPRESSION IS NOT THE OF GOD’S PRESENCE, IT'S JUST YOU FROM SEEING & EXPERIENCING IT.

Micah 7:8,9b - Though I fall, I will rise; Though I sit in the darkness [of distress], the Lord is a light for me. He will bring me out to the light, And I will behold His [amazing] righteousness and His remarkable deliverance.

Proverbs 12:25 - Anxiety leads to depression, but a good word encourages.
