Walking by the Spirit or keeping in step with the Spirit means to be led by the Spirit. Galatians 5:18 How do we walk by the Spirit? Who is the Spirit? The Spirit is a gift we receive from God when we believe in Jesus. Walking in the Spirit is not some extra-credit version of the Christian life. It is the only way to live the Christian life. Walking with the Spirit is more dynamic than prescriptive. The Fruit of the Spirit is the proof and result of walking with the Spirit. How to walk with the Spirit (how to be sensitive to His voice): Read the Bible regularly—learn to recognize His voice and what’s important to Him through the scriptures Memorize verses (give the Holy Spirit a vocabulary in your life) Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to recognize His leading Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in what He has for you each day
