Sunday,February 8, 2026 BIG IDEA: Unified, Listening, and Obeying Directed by The Holy Spirit… Sent Out By The Church Acts 13:1-12 (Acts 13:1) The Antioch Five (Preachers & Teachers): – Leader (regarded as first), great discipler and encourager – called “Niger” meaning “dark” or “black” – from Cyrene – grew up with Herod the Tetrarch – still called “Saul” (regarded as least) (Acts 13:2) Paul & Barnabas are The Church was doing two things: – They went without food to turn their focus to God – “Litergeo” = “ministering to the Lord” (Psalm 149:4) Some are called to and “GO” Others are called to and “GO” (Acts 13:3) Paul & Barnabas are The church did three things: – sacrifice for God – on God – to God (Acts 13:4-12) Paul & Barnabas (with John Mark) & They to Cyprus They the Word of God “katangelo” They opposition Bar-Jesus = Elymas – sorcerer/false prophet Attempting to keep the proconsul from faith A – Paul exposes him A – God blinds the blinder A – The proconsul is blind no more CONCLUSION: Acts 13:1-12 teaches us three key foundational aspects of the Christian life: Unity, Listening, and Obeying. May God help His church to be unified in the Spirit, listening to His call, and obeying His Word.
